In & Out Burger, Pinkberry and Sunshine

Hey Y'all!

I just finished eating me up an In & Out Burger and man oh man are those things tasty! Friggin chompity chomp! People keep saying, "Gotta eat at In & Out! Gotta do it!" So I done did. In like two seconds that burger was gone and I wanted another. So good. And not gross McDonalds aftergross. Fries are just ok though. Nothing special there.

And I had Pinkberry the other day too. People been nagging me to eat that stuff so I done did. It was just ok. Tasted normal good. I mean, Really? Is that what all the hype was about? I like fruit. I like yogurt or whatever. But I didn't get why people were yelling at me insisting I eat the Pinkberry. But the burgers... man people wernt lying bout their deliciousness.

Anyway, I seen a movie tonight. Sunshine. You can read a review here if you wanna.

ok bye!
tOdd

PS. Thanks again to everyone who donated to the Odd Todd Ducky Ducks! We raced to become the Number #1 fundraising team in the whole friggin thing! Coolio! Check it! In your face!! ummm.... other fundraising do-gooders?

PPS. Apparently the link to the Ratatooey review was broken. Tis now fixed here.

Totally agree about In&Out .... their burgers are great. And, although they make a big noise about how great their fries are (100% natural potatoes and such), I wasn't impressed.

However, nothing beats McDonald's fries if you can scarf 'em in the first two minutes. Once they go cold, they're horrid and reheating them fails to recapture their piping-hot goodness.

The fries need serious improvement but the burgers are awesome.

Did you know you can order things that are not on the menu? You can get like 4 or 6 patty burgers...

I like In & Out fries. But there burgers do ROCK. They need them in the Midwest too. The Loft, a hawaiian-style restuarant was also SUPER good. If you get out to Torrance tOdd, go there and get the Island-style Fried chicken.
I'm hungry now, thanks. I miss CA, only for the food.

You should also check out Jack in the Box. Get a sourdough Jack with a side of buttermilk ranch. Get the curly fries and jalepeno poppers too. Wait...get butt-loads of buttermilk ranch. Pour the ranch on everything. You will probably die on the spot from excessive fat intake...but U will die happy. This is on my list for deathrow last meals....but I am not (currently ) on death row. If I ever am...I DO have quite the meal picked out. Why aren't there J in the B's everywhere in the US?!? Here's your million dollar idea Todd....buy a franchise for Jack in the Box in a state that doesn't have them...ie: the entire east coast!

dude, veggieman...i was a vegetarian for over 8 years, and a vegan for a good amount of those years. i stopped eating meat for animal rights reasons. (i started to eat some free range meat recently for crucial health reasons).

however, i NEVER would have said something so ridiculous during that time. no wonder so many people turn their back to more animal-friendly diets when so many vegetarians and vegans run around spewing out BS like that. it's a darn shame.

Yo, tOdd,

If no one else has clued you in, you gotta order your next Double Double "animal style". They'll know what you're takin' 'bout; no need for a wink or secret handshake. It's mustard-basted meat with grilled onions, extra sauce and pickles. You can also get your fries animal style, too.

Double-Double Animal Style...as if So Cal living couldn't get any better already.

Yo Todd,
I second the comment on the In N Out Animal Style burger. Just do it, you won't regret it. And if you're really daring, get the fries Animal Style. Yummy gooey cheesy dressing on the fries makes them delicious!

But, all may not be lost when you return to NYC. From this month's Departures Magazine, p. 48:
"LA burger haven In-N-Out Burger is rumored to be planning a New York debut..."

Huh? In New York??? Nononononono. All wrong. Sorry buddy, but as much as we all may love 'em, they gotta stay on the west sieeeeeede.

Peace out!

In N Out Secret Menu....

In-N-Out

X by Y
X number of meat patties and Y number of slices of cheese (for example, a 3 by 3 is 3 meat patties and 3 slices of cheese and a 2 by 4 would be 2 meat patties and 4 slices of cheese)

Double Meat
Two meat patties without cheese.
Triple Meat
Three meat patties without cheese.
Double-Double + Side Car
Double cheeseburger meal + a single burger on the side.
Animal Style
A mustard cooked beef patty served on a bun with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, extra spread and grilled onions. Any burger (including veggie and grilled cheeses) may be made this way.
Flying Dutchman
Two meat patties, two slices of melted cheese and nothing else.
Grilled Cheese
Two slices of melted cheese, tomato, lettuce and spread on a bun, with no meat.
Protein Style
Instead of a bun, the burger is wrapped in lettuce. Any burger (including veggie and grilled cheeses) may be made this way. The lettuce wrap is substituted for the lettuce that would be inside the burger.
Veggie Burger
A burger without the meat and cheese.
(Note, at one time may have been called "Wish Burger" but some In N Out's do not go by this title any longer.)
Extra Everything
Adds extra spread, tomato, lettuce, and onions (regular or grilled).
Fries "Light"
Almost raw fries that are cooked for less time.
Fries "Well"
Fries that are cooked longer to be extra crisp.
Cheese Fries
Fries with two slices of melted cheese placed on top.
Animal Style Fries
Fries with cheese, spread, and grilled onions.
Neapolitan Shake
All three shake flavors (strawberry, vanilla and chocolate) combined in one shake.
Choco-Vanilla Swirl
Chocolate and vanilla flavors combined into one shake.
Lemon-Up
Half and half combo of pink lemonade and 7 Up.

In response to what you wrote above:
Are you in it to win or help all the athletes? There is no "I" in Team. Would you prefer that no other "do gooders" raised money so that the only money the Special Olympics' athletes had was the money that your team raised! What glory you would have? ;)Thought you were a nice philanthropic person that could advise me on how to get more money for the Special Olympics but, I guess, I was darn wrong! No one to look up to anymore...Oh yeh, I was just kidding, too...

I was in San Diego recently, and decided to try the legendary In-n-Out burger.

I was not impressed at all.

It was a walk-in as well as drive thru location, so I got to see the assembly line, too. Totally inefficient -- which is part of the reason why I was able to observe it for so long (and watch my food sitting there getting cold while waiting for each next step.)

It was also one of the dirtiest fast food joints I've ever been in.

But they were busy. Very busy.

There were other choices in the neighborhood with better food, a cleaner dining room, and the same prices. So all I can assume is that the locals were just so bamboozled by the legend that they were convincing themselves that it was actually a good place to eat.

I won't be returning.

Comment #1: I lived in Cali for a year last year and still don't get the In-N-Out thing. Never thought they were all that good at all.

Comment #2: Never knew that Jack-in-the-Box wasn't everywhere. Just never noticed I guess. But yumm...sourdough burgers are awesome!!

Comment #3: The fast food chain to open is Taco Cabana. Are these only in Texas?? They are AWESOME!

Hey Todd! The In and Out burgers AND fries are awesome (I'm another preggo, craving some good burger action here on the east coast).

You should ALSO hit the Pollo Loco!! Oh my god, I miss their salsa bar!

Oh, and the chili burgers at Tommy's are amazing, too! (Silver Lake and Hollywood)

Jesus, I'd go back to Cali just for the food right now, I swear.
