Almost Home

Hey!

On Thursday night I'm finally heading home. I can't believe it's been a month already. I'll be packing up my computer and shipping back to Brooklyn later today (shipping "ground" this time so I don't get mugged by UPS again $) -- so this might be the last entry for a couple days maybe. Unless something major or majorly weird happens.

I'm very ready to be back home and I really do miss Roscoe pretty bad (picking him up Friday AM!) And I'm psyched to get back into the swing of sitting at home and just doing what I do (or pretend to do... or not doat all). And be around all my stuff. And see family and friends etc. I did officially get a little homesick today.

I have another bunch of photos in my camera but I'll take smore pics here in Caly and my stopover stint in Vegas (3 hours!) and put em all up when I get home.

Apologies if I've seemed a little secretive about what I've been doing out here in LA but to be honest I'm not all that sure either. Basically, I've just met with a bunch of TV people and told/showed them what I do to see if they wanna do stuff. So we'll see if they wanna maybe-- and it's like that sorta.

Regardless of whatever, I'll be putting the site back to "normal" sometime this month and will be busy working away on new toonages and gameages that take too long. Stuff is in the works totally. Daily stuff will all be returning soon too! So type up and send in your (Annoyances, Recipes, Thieves, Gross bug stories, and Bad Neighbor stories!) And send em in to [email protected] Or send a postcard to PO Box 187 NYC 10014!

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there with me. I know my site gets flaky sometimes and has ups and downs and some peeps seemed to like this blog thang and others maybe wernt nuts for it. But I appreciate your stopping in and checking in and sending good vibes and reading what I wrote about stuff (even though sometimes when I type stuff I go on and on for too long and you might wish that I would just get to the point and not blah blah keep going after a point has been made because then it just gets boring to keep reading something that just doesn't seem to end and you might be like, 'what the hell with this guy can't he just write a couple paragraphs and get it over with why does he have to babble about nothing all extra when he was writing about nothing to begin with-- can't he just learn to end a sentence especially when his grammar sucks!?' I totally hear what you're saying with that and I will certainly do my best with that so I don't overwrite and go on and on and on and blah and blah and blah with the extra words and typing when I totally don't need to. I actually think I'm getting better at it!)

Good vibes to y'all!

ok bye!
tOdd

PS. I'm scared Roscoe forgot who I am or he's just gonna be mad at me. I'm trying to downplay the emotionality expectation of the reunion...

PPS. Bye LA!

Todd, dude, Roscoe will think you are the bestest! I bet the first thing he wants to do is take you around and show you to all his new friends and then see all the places you used to go "back in the day". It will be like the return of the Messiah! Don't worry about it!

I sort of agree, but not immediately. I mean, Roscoes first impulse will be of bewilderment. I can bet he won't be sure what he's remembering. He may also be a little resentful, but that's just normal. He may ignore you for a couple of minutes. Then it'll be like that Dory moment in Finding Nemo, and he'll realize who you are. I guess a good advise here would be not to get upset if Roscoe doesn't immediately jump up on you and lick your face. Give him some room to sort it out and you'll both be better off!! :-) Good luck on your trip back! Hope everything works out for you!

I've always heard dogs have no concept of time, so it doesn't matter if you've been gone 5 minutes, or 5 months.

Anyway, hope you have a safe trip home, and thanks for taking all of us to LA with you, it's been "totally coolio"!!

Roscoe is going to be very excited to see you because you will be a familiar friend. He really doesn't know that you're "gone" right now. As far as he's concerned he lives there and when things change dogs/animals adapt very well. However, I've left my dog for long periods of time before and after our lovey dovey reunion he usually exhibits some odd behavior. Accidents in the house, sleeping a lot, barking and growling at things he doesnt normally bark at, and sometimes even a little depressed. It always passes and he goes back to his normal self.

Have a safe trip back home!

FYI - the security line at the Vegas Airport is generally pretty long unless it is the middle of the night.

Also - I boarded my pooch a couple of times for an extended period and she would "act out" for a while after we got home, so watch out for Roscoe presents. ;)

Shipping your computer ground from LA to NYC may be significantly less expensive, but it's also going to take a full week plus a day or two. That's a long time to be without a computer!

UPS Next Day is expensive for a heavy package, but you might consider 3-Day Select as a viable option. Much less expensive, and it can get across the whole country in 3-days, excluding weekends.

Make sure you go to a The UPS Store or the retail counter at a UPS facility. If you go anywhere else, they mark-up the price sometimes as much as 30-50%. The UPS Store doesn't do that.

$1 buck says you will miss your connecting flight. if you leave the airport you won't make it back through security in time - even with three hours.

security does take forever in vegas. but if you miss your plane it'll make a great story!

and just tell rOscoe what you were doing and that you missed him like crazy. He'll understand.

I'm a frequent reader, but never comment. But I do want you to know that I've really enjoyed this summer change up in style. It's been fun reading you as a blog. Best of luck on 'whatever' you're up to down in LA.

Jirk -- why do you live for RoscoeCam? Is your life so sad? You know absolutely everything said there, yet you admonish those people for being there -- obviously you are there 24/7 -- so sad

Amen Anon!

Jirk!! If you think the peeps on RoscoeCam are so pathetic, why do you know every single thing said there? You are like a rubber necker at an accident -- you thrive on it. Any normal person who couldn't stand what went on there, and wanted to make fun of them, wouldn't even GO THERE!! So you are sick, sick, sick, sick, sick
I hope you get help for your problems

One time my uncle had to go away for a week and left his dog with us for about a week. Once he came over to pick her up she was jumping a bit and was so happy to see him. So I'm sure you got nothing to worry about tOdd.

When I was a kid we had a dog that we used to leave with the grandparents for one week every year. He loved staying with them and always had a great time when he was there, but every year when we got back and picked him up he would give us all the cold shoulder for a day or two. Todd, I have no idea if Roscoe might do the same kinda thing himself when you go to pick him up, but if he does, don't sweat it. He'll be all back to normal after a day or two.

Todd - we just got from two weeks vacation. Our dog was boarded and LOVED seeing us. Of course it didn't help that I went all high pitched voice and wiggling and everything when I saw her, but hey, we missed her. BUT, she had some poop problems about three days later. The vet said that's common, especially with trying to get settled back in to the normal routine. Just give Roscoe some extra potty breaks, and that might prevent some of the "surprises" others have mentioned above. - Mini's mom

I betcha Roscoe nearly whizzes all over the floor when tOdd picks him up. His stumpy tail will be waggins soooo hard his whole body will be shaking..

As was stated earler, I would not be surprised if you get a few "presents" in the form of bodily functions throughout your house in retaliation. Roscoe is a smart cookie - like all wheatens. He knows when you've been bad or good, so expect something naughty in retaliation.

Awwww. It's been a nice ride OT, since I've been reading it's been a pleasure always. And never expected it to be anything more than fun and relaxing for you, although sometimes I know it's not. I was glad you got a little summertime livin' easy in, and I think this blog (oh yes and LA) was a nice break for you.

That said, I'm sure NY and Roscoe cannot wait until you get home, and though you're already there by now (I've had vacation myself this week and I've been out of it), hope your trip was safe and the reunion the happiest it could be.

Take care always! Welcome home!

There really should be registration for posting comments and chatting on this site. It may "weed out" some of the rather nasty anonymous and impostor posters. Years ago, when only a few of us (quite a few, mind you) had "discovered" tOdd, this place felt more homey, like we are along among friends. But since a few months back I guess these losers have begun insulting and hurtful to tOdd and other posters, which just ain't right. Get offline, since obviously you can't cope there either.

OK, flame me now, Anon losers! Or better yet, you can pass off as someone else! Have fun!
