If you don't stand behind our troops. Feel free to stand IN FRONT of them!

Those "victims" are BAD GUYS, therefore T A R G E T S.

If you want I'll buy you a ticket to either Iraq or the Stan so you can go spread your "love" over there.

Remember who gave you that freedom of speech. You'd be in prison for what you said in some countries.

Appreciate what you think comes for granted. I'm proud to be one of the guys providing it for you.

For the sack of the gods, DO NOT STAND IN FRONT OF THOSE GUYS.

24% of the casualties suffered in Iraq have been the result of "friendly" fire and general stupidity behind the wheel of vehicles they can barely manage with the piddly training they've had.

Believe me, those blokes are a bigger danger to themselves than the (latest manufactured) enemy.

Never have met a finer group of people than those in the U.S. armed forces. Your calling them dangerous or stupid reveals a lot about you.

Hippizzle and other various anonymous-es suggest things like "peace in the middle f-ing east." I wonder what they mean by that??

Do you mean peace in terms of our troop withdrawl? ...Because there won't be peace in the middle east even if U.S. forces are not there. You say "peace in the middle east" as if our presence is the only reason for conflict there. If we pull out, there still won't be peace. Hasn't been for a long time.

So what are your concrete suggestions for peace in the middle east?

Please don't toy with a woman whose husband is about to leave on a 5-month deployment to Baghdad, leaving behind his beuatiful almost-three-year-old son and his lovely three-year-old daughter. They (and I) are facing 5 months without Daddy, a Christmas without Daddy, etc.

You might think it's fun to be a jerk, but I don't think it's fun at all.

I loved the video, Todd. Thanks for posting it and reminding everyone what great troops we've got!

Your husband wasn't drafted. He entered into the service with his eyes wide open.

You weren't sold into matrimony. You entered into your relationship with your eyes wide open.

Stop playing the "Poor little me" game. I have no sympathy or pity for those who put themselves in bad situations.

You are human and thus, open for toying

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND ALL WHO SACRIFICE FOR FREEDOM AND NON-FASCISM!

Actually, the U.S. supports many brutal dictatorships.

They only declare enemies of those who threaten their FINANCIAL interests. So, let us drop the clichés of "fighting for freedom" and "non-fascism."

The troops are fighting for money that they will never see because the U.S. is not kind to its veterans after they finish with the latest "war."

Hey, "Anonymous"!

Your freedom to say the naive things you are saying was brought to you by someone who shed his blood.

You're not a pacifist, you like stirring up trouble more than most people I know.

Don't pick on people who are in a weak position, they don't need to hear your nonsense. You sir are an ignorant coward. Not to mention a bit of a tw@t.

And .. which war did the U.S. fight for freedom of speech?

HINT: It was not the insurgency of 1775 because England already offered that right.

You twits who are so in love with your country don't even know its history.

No blood has been shed by anyone from the United States for the freedom of speech.

Pilots..... Freak'n Pilots.....

A pilot walks into the doctors office after having a stool sample taken the day before.

The Dr. opens the Jar, and puts in under the Pilots nose.

The pilot rears back, after getting a big smell of the jar.

The Pilot asks "geez doc... what was that for???"

The Doc responds "I just wanted to show you that your shit does indeed still stink!"

Very Funny none the less. I'm going to show it to the 94th Pilots tonight at work.

PS TEX girl, you ROCK!

I think he's saying "Emirate Tea," since he's in the U.A.E. (United Arab Emirates). He's just stretching the word to make the syllables conform to the beat.

And thanks, everybody, for the support. It is VERY appreciated in this household.

texasgirl, while I have no doubt your husband joined the military with noble ambitions, he's not fighting for our freedom right now, he's simply being used by a greedy government. Iraq was never a treat to our freedom whatsoever. This excuse was played out the moment it came out of Rumsfeld lying mouth.
Good luck to you and your family. We can support the troops and be against this war.

August 14, 2007 9:40 PM
Anonymous texasgirl said...

Oh, anonymous.

Yes, I agree that you can support the troops and be against the war. I agree that our continued presence in Iraq is problematic AND that our potential withdrawl from Iraq is problematic. Some of the policy makers under this administration (Bush himself, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Paul Bremer, etc) have put us as a country in a difficult situation which may be hard to rectify.

But what you have proven in your vitriol tonight is that you don't support the war AND you don't support the troops.

Supporting the troops means not calling them stupid or dangerous.

Supporting the troops means making things as easy for them as possible on the homefront so that they can go to the warfront and do a very hard job.

Your being rude in your previous posts to a service member's wife and family is the exact opposite of supporting the troops.

I cannot take your wish of "good luck" in good faith since you earlier accused me of playing the "poor little me" game.

And I still think the video is terrific.

And how do you "support" the troops? How much of your finances have you sacrificed for our veterans? How many letters to your representatives have you sent asking to increase relief and aid to our returning troops or the families of the dead? I believe the Texas representatives voted to reduce veteran benefits last year. Did you try to stop them? Have you done anything at all?

Do you provide any support for the troops beyond simple lip service and litany?

August 14, 2007 10:49 PM
Anonymous TexasGirl said...

I chuckle at myself for being sucked into this, but here goes...

How do I support the troops?

Well, most importantly, I live with one and love one. I "keep the home fires buring" whenever he is away; I love his children; I take care of him.

I send care packages to deployed troops.

I've donated to a very important veterans' care center in San Antonio, which I encourage everyone to do:

http://www.fallenheroesfund.org/fallenheroes/press_room/item.php?id=16

I vote.

I give material and emotional support to at least one military member (my husband) and probably many others (my friends) every single day of my life.

And now I'm going to bed.

I can understand the need for a army and still be a pacifist. I can disagree with the policies of my own country without being a traitor. i can find a video made by troops off to fight a war i disagree with funny. The fact that these guys made a funny video is irrelevant to the political descion to put them there.
We support our troops by speaking publicly about our oppisition to the current policys of war, veterans health care etc, etc, It is hard to argue that is a just war so we has americans have a obligation to our troops to work hard to support there best intrests not the best intrests of the current administration.
