I have a Monday’s Annoyance for you…  REGISTER.COM has an automatic dialer - (212) 798-9291 – that keeps calling my cell phone, like every hour.  When I answer, it just hangs up.  I looked up that number on an internet search and apparently there are tons of complaints about that number doing the same thing to lots of people.  Supposedly it is to remind people to renew.  When I call the number back, no one answers, so I call the main Register.Com number, which is (888) 734-4783.  After being on the phone with them for like 10 minutes and them acting all confused, eventually the lady finds out that oh, yes, that is the number for our automatic dialer.  I ask to be put on the do not call list.  She asked me my domain name.  I don’t actually OWN a domain name but I have like 10 different ones that I do work for, and there is also my personal site, but my sister owns that one (my birthday present every year.  Anyway).  She checks them all and says that my cell # isn’t attached to any of them.  So, guess what?  THEY CAN’T TAKE ME OFF OF THE LIST OF NUMBERS THE MACHINE IS CALLING. 

I ask her what I am supposed to do.  She tells me the next time the number calls, I should answer and WAIT TWO FULL MINUTES and definitely someone will get on the line and I can ask that person to put me on the ‘Do not call’ list.  I am actually on the National Do Not Call Registry, but apparently that doesn’t totally apply if you have a business relationship or blah blah whatever, but I am going to file a complaint anyway.  And I am SO not the ‘file a complaint’ type person usually.  This is so annoying!  F@%# You Register.Com!!!!

Here's what annoyes me.  At my job, if you tell me that the standard procedure is to do something a certain way, and then I ask someone to do it that way, don't get mad at me and send emails to my supervisors' supervisor……who then in turn sends me nasty emails.  Everybody just leave me alone please.

I'm so annoyed, that I don't think the above statement is even typed correctly.

Costco!

Wait - you have people who HELP you load?  We have none of that at our
store, and I'd take mediocre loading over no help at all.  I have 3 kids
(hence, my trips to costco, with gritted teeth) and by the time we get
through their mile-long lines, the kids are done-for.  I'd love it if
someone would help throw my huge boxes of baby wipes back into the cart so
we could get our tired family out of that place faster.  But they just stand
there as my 2yo daughter wails.  She has a temporary "fear" of men, and if
unfamiliar men look at or talk to her, she cries.  So, Costco is so fun!
(Not!)  I would love some help, even if they threw it in there haphazardly.

And, to all the people who criticize noisy, crying kids ... Take a look in
the mirror.  You're an adult, and you're whining.  Those whiny kids grow up
to be you.
