Bought a Painting off a Cabbie

Whenever I take a cab I usually feel out right away if the cabbie is a talker or a non-talker. Either way is fine but sometimes the talkers are interesting.  Anyway, the other day I got in a cab and the dude was a talker. He looked like he was in his 60's and seemed like he's been driving a cab in nyc for about 60 years. He started to complain about how business was slow and how he has to drive 5 or 6 days a week 12 hour shifts and all that. Which sucks. We talked for a while and he told me that he's also a painter and he paints as much as he can on his days off.

I thought that was cool and I started asking him about what kind of paintings he does.  He said mainly landscapes and that he used to hang his paintings on the divider between the front seat and back to try and sell them- but no one would ever buy em so he took them down. But he had a couple in the glove compartment.

He hands back to me this paper towel cardboard tube with two paintings on canvas in it. Both pretty similar. He asked me which I liked better and I told him I liked the one by the river more than the other. He told me I could have it for $50. I was like nice is nice and all -but I ain't spending no 50 smacks on no painting today. Anyway, I only had $30 on me total and the cab ride was gonna be like $10. We agreed $30 total for the ride and the painting. I try to avoid spending money on cab rides and this one cost me an extra $20- but I think it was well worth it.

I scanned it in. Here it is.

ok bye!
