Pictures for the Week!

Hey! We went to the High Line yesterday! And took some pics! Twas very coolio! Here's pics!

I think it's probably the most impressive thing built in NYC in the last 20 years.

This is what it looked like when they first started construction. Was just ugly leftover subway line from the 70's or something.

But they fixed it up!

That's the High Line seen from the street. Forever it's been an abandoned above ground subway line. All over grown and useless and ugly. It was one of those things you looked at and wondered when they were gonna get around to tearing it down...

But they fixed it all up. Here's the stairway up to the walkabout...

I was sort of amazed. They kept it all in it's natural abandoned overgrown state but all neato instead of cruddy...

Even the views of the Meat Packing district got in on making things look nicer from above...

Here's some dude walking toward me who probably thought I was paparazzing him...

It's like the only place in the city that doesn't have benches that are un-lie-downable. They encourage the lounge-out...

Also the old buildings and walls alongside are coolio to lookat. (more info about these colors here if you wanna know..)

This artist guy was drawing some stuff. The sign said it was ok to stand behind him but not to break his concentration or something. Fair enough...

There's also this theatery thing where you can sit and watch the traffic like it's on screens.

Looks like a big TV, right?

While NYC was still rich we built up some cool looking buildings. I get the feeling they'll be taking an architectural break for a while...

Armani guy. Too cool to even look at us...

Another picture of this building that I like. Looks like an iceberg sail...

Lots of pretty flowers up here. Even the workers seemed to be whistle-while-you-work happy...

Bye bye High Line!

On the way down I took some pictures of these stacked cars...

And we walked by the sail-berg...

ok bye! Thanks rich people for doing something right!

PS. Sort of disappointed in my camera. Maybe for the last time... Everything a little blurred? Colors not crisp?
