Cups turkey meat cut in large cubes
8
Strips of thick bacon, cut into squares
2
Apples or Pears (or 1 of each), cored and cubed, and at room temperature
Salt,
pepper
(Note:
Choose crisp apples or pears, not the soft varieties.)
Heat
a large skillet, and fry the bacon squares slowly so they render fat instead
of burning.
Add
the turkey cubes, add a pinch of salt and pepper, let the meat soak-up
the hot fat, and heat thoroughly.
Toss
in the apple or pear cubes, and heat.
Serve
immediately. Serves 2-4 people.
Can
be served over Chinese noodles, and garnished with walnut halves if you're
employed, or served with cubes of stale bread if you're still unemployed.

Potato Soup Yumminess
Hi
Todd,
This
is a recipe that my grandma made for my dad when he was a kid and they were
poor. Then I made it in college when I was poor. Here goes.
Ingredients:
potatoes
- about 3 big ones or 6 smaller ones - I like the golden butter potatoes
one
onion - chopped
a
can of evaporated milk
Corn
starch
cheddar
cheese
salt
and pepper
some
carrots if you like carrots
Rinse
and peel your potatoes, then cut them up into about 1 inch chunks. Put them
in a pot and add enough water to come about an inch over the potatoes. Boil
for about 15 minutes, then add the onion (and carrots if you want them) and
keep boiling until the taters are soft. Open your can of evaporated milk (a
big can - not one of those little ones) and pour HALF into the pot. Then
take about 3 tablespoons of the corn starch and add it to the rest of the
milk in the can. Stir up with a fork, then add to the soup (this may sound
weird, but cornstarch doesn't mix well with hot liquids, so you have to mix
it in with something cold.) Keep stirring for a few minutes, and add salt
and pepper to taste. Then serve over chunks of cheddar cheese. Not really
low fat or anything, but this soup is really yummy and cheesy and super
cheap to make.
bye!
