TUESDAY'S LUNCH SPECIAL IS FROM: RENEE IN JACKSONVILLE, FLA.
Hey tOdd!
After your fruit is sufficiently drained, put it in a bowl, preferably one that has a cover. I save all my containers that used to have other food and stuff in them, so I usually have a covered bowl. Anyway, add as many miniature marshmallows as you wish. I usually add 3/4 of a bag (this is the part that "grows" in the fridge.
So if you want it to grow really big, add the whole freakin' bag!) Then you add the container of cool whip like stuff. I never buy real COOL-WHIP because it all tastes the same and the generic stuff is a lot cheaper. I usually save at least a little of the cool whip stuff for special "let's get freaky" activities.
So, OK, you just mix it all up, put a lid on it and stick it in the fridge. The marshmallows like kind of soak up the cool whip stuff and the little bit of juice left on the canned fruit and they expand. A real tummy filler!!!!! You can modify this recipe by adding more or less of any of the ingredients.
I only add Pecans when my neighbor's tree is producing nuts and they fall in my yard, that is only every other year. An ounce of pecans cost more than an ounce of freakin' Gold! Go figure, stuff that falls on the ground could subsidize the ailing Stock Market!
I also, on special occasions, add the maraschino cherries. I usually buy the ones without stems unless I performing my "watch me tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue while I'm shitfaced" act.
Oh yeah, remember you can get all of these ingredients like at The Dollar Store, or the salvage mart for real cheap. I never buy the name brands. Well, OK...the Pecans are always expensive, unless you have a neighbor with a Pecan tree!
