Robyn's
Pool Party Sangria
First, I must begin by saying,
only the first time you try this recipe will you use
these "original" measurements. This is a PARTY sangria,
and--forces be with you--you will find the NEED to
triple, quadruple, or whatever--to satisfy the need of
your partiers.
Here's the FoolProof basics~ with
love and happy Sangria vibes to all~~
Sangria for 4---at lunch--
2 oranges
2 lemons
2 limes
1 bottle white wine (Turning
Leaf Chardonay is great for anyone confused by this
choice)
2 Tablespoons brandy
2 Tablespoons honey (if you
don't have brandy, double the honey & forget about it)
1 Tablespoon cinnamon (or if
your snazzy--a cinnamon stick is cool)
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 cup sliced seedless grapes
2 pitted, chopped peaches
1 Quart Canada Dry Ginger Ale
~Squeeze jucie from oranges,
lemons and limes. Combine wine, brandy (?) honey,
cinnamon, strawberries, grapes, and peaches. Cover and
chill well for 1 hour. (can chill for up to 36 hours
fine) Just before serving, gently stir in Ginger Ale.
This recipe can be increased
unendedly. Enjoy responsibly....yeah right....sleep
over---who are you kidding?
Party on and have a radical summer Todd.

This isn't a
recipe for eating, but for eliminating those pesky
fruit flies that seem to appear like clockwork
around this time of year. To eliminate flies for
good, it helps to keep all fruit and veg in the
refrigerator, and not to bring in cut flowers from
outside. If you're like me however and always buy
fruit with good intentions and then seem to skip
over it in favor of better chocolate intentions,
well, then this recipe is for you.
Take a glass, jar, vase or
bowl and mix in equalish amounts of Cider Vinegar
and Dishwashing soap to the one-third full mark on
the container. Add water under pressure to make a
frothy foam head and leave the container near your
flowers or fruit bowl. Make sure it's out of reach
of children and animals, as although it is harmless
to drink, it would probably cause a tummy ache.
Watch as the flies land on the bubbles only to be
sucked in and unable to leave again. Mwah-ha-ha-hah!
If the foam collapses you can usually pour some of
the mixture out and add more water for another day's
worth. I've also been told by bartenders that they
like this trap too: Pour some red wine on a
saucer and cover with SaranWrap. Poke some holes in
the wrap. Leave out overnight. In the morning the
flies will be drowndeded in the wine and unable to
fly back out the holes. Not a bad way to go in the
end.
Cheers,
Heather

here is a recipe my
granpa taught me when I was a little kid
EGG IN A HOLE
Take a piece of bread
cut a round hole in the middle of it after you butter both
sides
put it in a hot frying pan
and crack an egg into the hole
put salt on it and flip it over.
mmmmmm yummmy don't forget to cook the little hole of the
bread too.
