TUESDAY'S LUNCH SPECIAL IS FROM:
JAYBIRD! IN STATEN
ISLAND!
Jaybird’s Brownie of
Death Dessert
I
like it ‘cause it is horrible for you but is
most delicious.

What you need for:
Box
of Betty Crocker (or comparable, don’t use no cheap A&P or
A
cupcake baking tray (That’s all I had…)
A
large jar of maraschino cherries
Foil
and Paper cupcake sleeves
A
can of whipped cream
Chocolate
shavings (or sprinkles will do )
Hershey’s
Chocolate syrup (Is there any other?)
Half
Gallon of Vanilla Ice Cream (I prefer Breyers it
has a more vanilla bean taste to it)
Bag
of crushed walnuts or peanuts
What
to do with all this stuff:
First
mix up the brownie stuff in a big bowl.
Make sure to accidentally get your finger in there a few times so you
can taste the mix before you cook it….Mmmmmmm
raw eggs and chocolate powder stuff…yummy.
You can add the crushed nuts to the mix now if you like but I like to
sprinkle them on later.
Take
the foil and paper cupcake sleeves and put them in the cupcake tray.
Put 2
Tablespoons of brownie mix in each sleeve then add 3 cherries.
Distribute remaining mix evenly to fill the sleeves the rest of the
way. I like the little cherry suprises
when you dig in later.
Cook
the brownies according to directions on the box.
After their done let them sit for a good 10 minutes but you want them
to be a little warm when you serve them.
Now
the fun part:
Cut
the brownies in half vertically (so each half has a bottom and a top). For
each serving, place the halves in a dish, flat side down with the bottoms
facing each other. Put two
scoops of ice-cream on either side of the seam and one on top.
Now drizzle
chocolate syrup back and forth to make a zig-zag
design. You can then drag the
edge of a knife across the syrup lines on the plate (perpendicular to the
syrup lines) in 1 inch intervals for a coolio
effect.
Now
sprinkle the crushed nuts (I like peanuts but folks seem to love walnuts
with their brownies) all over the ice cream and brownies
Next
cover the center scoop and around it’s base
with whipped cream so the brownie tops still stick out on the sides.
Sprinkle chocolate shavings or sprinkles all over the whipped cream
and then top with a cherry.
If
you want to get crazy…like…loony and stuff, try crushing some skors
bars or heath bar crunch and mix it with the brownies….it’s gOod!
I am
not responsible for any injury and/or death which may occur upon following
this recipe and eating like a pig. Good
luck and God Bless!
