Dear Todd~
You will be the picnic master if you serve up these tasty little bundles at your next blanket party!
Make them beforehand and refrigerate until picnic time, they go great with some cold beers on a hot summer day. Bon Appetit~!
I love this recipe because I am a picnic-chick and this always a hit when I serve it.

This is maraschino cherry cake
with maraschino cream cheese frosting.

I saw this picture in a Paula Deen magazine.
I used a white cake mix and used buttermilk instead of water.
I added a few tablespoons of maraschino water from the jar.
Add some chopped cherries to the batter.
Bake according to box directions.

Then for the frosting:

8 oz. of cream cheese
1.5 sticks of unsalted butter
Slightly less than 1/4 cup of cherry water from the jar
1 lb of powdered sugar.  You can use more if you need to make it thicker.

Cream the butter and the cream cheese.
Slowly add the water and blend
Slowly add the sugar and blend. Scrape the bowl from the bottom to make sure everthing is mixed.
Frost cake, and garnish with cherries.
