TUESDAY'S LUNCH SPECIAL

Here’s
a wicked little french canadian family recipe
for those with a sweet tooth. Super easy, cheap &
crazy sweet.
Only real trouble is it requires about 15mins of undevoted attention. (I
have a bad habit of wandering away and forgetting that im cooking)
Mé-mère’s
Sucre-a-Crème
(roughly
translated, Grandma’s Sugar Cream)
2 cups
brown sugah
2 cups
half & half cream
Some
white bread
*Go pee
now, no bathroom breaks aloud.
Boil the
ingredients together in a little pot, stirring constantly until it comes
to a full boil, then reduce heat and stir often for about 10mins. DON’T
let it boil over – keep an eye on it. Take off heat, stir often as it
starts to cool.
Take your
white bread and dip’er in. Munch away. Looks all fancy if you throw a
dinner party and you cut the bread up into bite-size bits, fondue styles.
Once it
cools down, whatever’s left can be put into a container & stuck in
the fridge. Makes uber-sweet bars.
