When I was in grade school, I
always loved "Pizza-Burger" day...I learned that as you become an
adult that pleasures like grade school food vanishes.
So I re-create my beloved pizza-burgers and get all warm and fuzzy inside!
PIZZA BURGERS
What you will need:
About a dozen hamburger buns (cheap ones, no multi-grain crap)
A pound of ground beef (less fat if possible, less splatter that really hurts if you forgot your shirt)
A jar of your favorite spagetti sauce (Ragu rocks for this!)
American cheese slices (Kraft, if you dig the Dairy Fairy)
Grated Parm. Cheese (Kraft has the edge again)
Okay, heat the oven to around
375ish, then brown the ground beef in a clean pan. Drain it and mix it with the
sauce. Take the buns and toast them a little so that they don't get soggy...then
put a slice of cheese on each half of a bun. Then put a big-old spoonful of the
meat/sauce stuff on top of the cheese and bun...
Then top it with the grated parm stuff. Now put it in the oven for about 15
minutes until it looks all warm and the cheese is melted and it smells good.
Then serve it on lunch trays you stole from college and haven't used except for
when you get drunk and go sledding.
These are really good with pudding cups as dessert. It should make about a
dozen, which is cool cause I'm big and can eat that many. Enjoy!
