First West Coast Post
Hey Y'all!
I'm totally in California! Totally only got here three hours later than I thought! We sat on the runway for three full hours before take off! Awesome! Free extra time on the plane! No charge or nothing! Bonus! I watched that movie The Number 23 before we even took off. Man, did that movie suck. (plus it made me try and look for the number 23 in everything which double sucked because I don't know how to add. I'd be like, 'We're on flight 1893. 1+8+9+3!! Holy smokes that's 23!... no wait...'
But being stuck on the plane that long confirmed that not flying Roscoe was the best thing. Because after they shut off the AC to save gas, I would have totally tried to hijack the plane while it was still on the ground demanding the release of my dog... or else...I dunno... I'd make an egg fart or something.
Anyway, got lots of pictures already (including an injured worker lying on the tarmac at JFK) and some other stuff. I'll post pictures soon along with some other stuff. I know this new homepage is a little weirdish right now. But think about how I feel! I'm in some strange house, in a strange place I've never been, and I don't have my dog to not protect me! So you have it easy!
Yes, the old homepage will return laters- but if you're looking for something specific check The "BIG" archive listed under the Archive listing on the sidebar and stuff. It's all there. Oh, also Part 4 of that Carbon cartoon series is up at npr.org if you wanna go lookat that too.
I'm going to take a shower because I'm all airplane gross.

I highly recommend watching the new season of 'Man vs. Wild' on Discovery. I agree that summer TV sucks, but Bear is the man and should provide you with a plethora of Daily Facts You Learnt Today. Like 'the corkscrew' swimming method is the best method to use when caught in white water rapids. Or you can estimate how much daylight is left by putting your four fingers in between the sun and the horizon, each finger that fits equals 15 minutes. I didn't believe it either, but it actually works!

3 hours? Wow, Roscoe is incredibly lucky to have such a caring dad. He's probably having a great time in the pool at daycare. I'm flying to NY for a week and my dog is staying at home because I have half a dozen neighbors who love him. Cautious dog owners are the best.
The new look isn't bad. It's much cleaner than the other one. I think you should try to keep it. It also means less clicking to get to the "what's happening/blog" posts. yeah.
welcome to cali! glad you finally made it. now get off the computer and go find some boobs on the beach. we all love hearing from you, but take advantage of your new location, and dog responibility-free time!
A++ on the new look here. Maybe my eyes have been trained to web 2.0, but the old page just looked so - 1997. I vote you keep the web-log format even after summer's over.

Welcome to California Todd! Sometime during month, you have to try to make it down to San Diego, if only for a day. Not that I'm biased having grown up here, but it's MUCH better than LA. Less traffic, friendlier people... You get the picture! Take the train - it's easy and cheap. Better yet, take the train to Solana Beach and go to the racetrack (about a 5 minute cab ride from the station.) There's nothing like Del Mar - where the surf meets the turf... Opening day is July 18!
