MONDAY'S POET
-------------------------------------------

Love in the Cardboard City

I love this city made of card board
I met Bob on the corner and he said I wanna kiss you
I said no babe not here on the corner
Let's go into the library made from a shoe box
He said wait, check this out
And he leaned against the drinking straw which was
supposed to be a light pole
And as it toppled over, he said
Oh man, I forgot this pole was made of a drinking straw and I thought I was being so cool.
And his newspaper hat fell off his bald little head
I realized he was not the one for me as I walked along the street and looked up at the dental floss electrical lines strung between the toothpics.

And when the confetti fell as though it were snow, I made my way back to the kleenex box that was my home.
